Flexible Features
The Pulsar II easily adapts to many recording and live situations. The 12dB/octave 80Hz high-pass filter reduces low-frequency rumble and the potential for overloading mic preamps with low-frequency signals. The -10dB switchable attenuation pad and thermal diaphragm treatment also allow it to handle high SPLs for its class. And the included t-shaped stereo mounting bracket facilitates XY and ORTF recording right out of the box.

Reviews
"Our benchmark standard for affordable small-capsule condensers has always been the Oktava MC012, but the Pulsar II performs every bit as well as the MC012 in cardioid mode. In fact, the Pulsar II sounds slightly
more natural and realistic. Its real strength is the way it captures the midrange of the sound, with a smoothness that’s similar to a Neumann KM84, plus you get a touch more sparkle." Music Tech

"I’ve used Pulsar II mics for the past six months with the Pat Metheny Trio and plan to use them again on our summer tour. Their response and reliability help me meet my goal for capturing the drums live. The microphones are solidly built and totally dependable.” David Oakes (Pat Metheny)
“It captured the ambience of the room really well and, with a bit of compression, they helped to blend all the instruments into the mix perfectly – those Pulsars are definitely a keeper!” Romesh Dodangoda, Longwave Studios (host to Bullet For My Valentine, Kids In Glass Houses, The Blackout, Twin Atlantic, Manic Street Preachers, Funeral For A Friend, Cerys Matthews)
"most potential users will show interest in the Pulsar II as a close-contact microphone for instruments and it’s here that the sound really begins to shine. I tested it recording violin and the sound was clean, clear and warm, with very little colouration. Its performance suggests it would also make it an excellent choice both as an acoustic guitar mic and, when used in combination with a matched pair, as a drum kit overhead." Future Music
